Falling leaves, misty mornings, the cows have been brought in, bonfire night has gone off with a bang, it must be Autumn and time for apple pie. Method: I made a standard sweet shortcrust pastry, blind-baked the crust (controversial I know, but no-one wants a soggy bottom, do they?), cooked the apples before putting them in and made a lattice top.
